Nicomide® Tablets is a prescription dietary supplement for oral administration, specifically formulated for the dietary management of patients with unique nutritional needs who require increased levels of one or more of the ingredients in this product. Nicomide® is indicated for use as a dietary supplement for patients who are deficient in, or who are at risk for deficiency, in one or more of the ingredients in this product. Nicomide® is contraindicated in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of its ingredients.
Folic acid alone is improper treatment of pernicious anemia and other megaloblastic anemias where vitamin B12 is deficient. Folic acid in doses above 1.0 mg daily may obscure pernicious anemia in that hematologic remission can occur while neurological manifestations remain progressive. Allergic sensitization has been reported rarely following oral and parenteral administration of folic acid.
If you are pregnant, nursing or taking medication consult with your physician or healthcare provider prior to using Nicomide®. Physicians should administer Nicomide® with caution to patients who are pregnant, nursing or taking medication. Nicomide® in large doses should be administered with caution in patients with a history of jaundice, liver disease or diabetes. Patients with chronic liver and / or renal failure should exercise extreme caution when taking supplements containing copper.

Nausea has been reported when niacinamide and zinc were administered at dosages higher than recommended with Nicomide®. If patient experiences nausea, then administer Nicomide® with food. Niacinamide is not associated with the flushing, burning skin sensations commonly associated with nicotinic acid. Although rare, transient elevations in liver function tests have been reported when niacinamide was administered at dosages greater than the recommended dose of Nicomide® dietary supplement.
